Thanks for your comment, Monica. I also love 'You've Got It'. Bruce has never been terribly secretive about his musical influences and certainly seems to let them into his writing. I think there are a lot of threads to follow from Bruce's influences and through his songs at various points in his career. This one jumped out at me because of the titles, but Bruce's lyrics add an element of desire that Chris Kenner's 'Something You Got' doesn't have. Thanks again and enjoy the new album!


I'm totally in love with You've Got It, so I think your post of Something You Got is great. It's great to be able to compare the two and follow the thread of continuity in his work. I've read a lot about the new album on-line recently and you are the first one to make a connection between these two songs. Good work.
